About the event
2024 Â Body and the Sight Vision Course
______
Embark on an electrifying journey with us at the inaugural event, "The Body and The Sight," where we harness the power of vision to enhance movement!
Regardless of your area of expertise, how we perceive the world visually and the function of our eye muscles profoundly impact the individuals we encounter. Recognizing constraints in your treatment programs related to Postural-Visual Integration distinguishes you in your field; knowing how to address them enhances patient outcomes.
Immersive lectures and interactive demonstrations will provide a comprehensive understanding, fuel your enthusiasm for integrated thinking, and empower your patients to enhance their quality of life!
In this comprehensive two-day course, you will gain expertise in:
1. Distinguishing between sight and vision.
2. Understanding how the visual perception of space profoundly influences body chamber compression during gait through the integration of visual-spatial processing.
3. Expanding on the concept of Centering into Visual Hemispheric Occupation® and its diagnostic value for any discipline.
4. Investigating the intricate relationships among extraocular muscles (EOMs), visual perception, cranial structures, oral cavity, neck, airway, grounding sense, and overall body function.
5. Analyzing the visual relationship to laterality and directionality proficiency and bilateral integration.
6. Recognizing patients who require AIA Vision® intervention through newly-developed systematic and diagnostic performance testing, and consider correlations to the AIA Spectrum of Patterns®
7. Collaborating effectively with interdisciplinary providers when necessary and identifying optimal timing for their involvement.
8. Applying visual-spatial awareness and eye movement principles to facilitate alternating Hemispheric Occupation® on both sides of the body.
9. Developing strategies to address deficiencies in laterality and directionality and integrating these strategies into comprehensive treatment plans.
10. Guiding patients through an AIA Vision® program to completion, with or without the assistance of an optometrist, to ensure successful outcomes.
Each day will start at 8 am and end at 5 pm local time. Lunch will be provided along with snacks. Â
